Stephenson is possibly best known for her manipulation of the beer can, a common commodity of art, used by the likes of Jasper Johns and more famously Sarah Lucas.

The cans are painstakingly recreated in ceramics to subvert not only the beer can but also reclaim the high ground from the readymade art industry.
